How do I monitor AI agents from different vendors in one place?
Last updated · Written by the Bot Office team; it names Bot Office where it fits and says where it does not.
The short answer
Agree one small, vendor-neutral status format (which bot, which task, started, step done, waiting, failed, finished) and have every tool send it to one place, by webhook, MCP or OpenTelemetry. Each vendor's own dashboard only sees its own bots; a shared format is what makes one view possible.
Keep it to status, not prompts or customer data: it is enough to see what is running, what broke and what waits for a person, and it is safe to show to people outside the engineering team.
Steps (with any tool)
- Make a list of every bot. Name, owner, what it does and what runs it. Most teams find bots nobody remembered.
- Pick the status events. Started, step done, waiting for a person, failed, finished. Add a run id so the steps of one task group together.
- Send them from each tool the way it allows. Workflow tools (n8n, Make, Zapier) can post an HTTP request as a last step; agents with tool use can call an MCP server; frameworks that export OpenTelemetry traces can send them to an OTLP endpoint.
- Watch for silence, not just errors. A bot that stopped running sends no error. Flag a bot whose silence is well past its usual rhythm.
- Give each person the right view. Operators need the live picture; managers and clients need a summary they can read.
How Bot Office does it
Bot Office is that one place. Each bot gets a desk; there are connection guides for n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, voice agents, help desks, agent frameworks and plain webhooks. Bots report over HTTP (POST /v1/in/events), MCP (https://aibotoffice.ai/mcp) or OpenTelemetry (/v1/in/otlp/v1/traces); n8n and Make can be read with an API key instead.
The office flags a quiet bot by its own rhythm, alerts Slack or Teams on failure, and keeps status only. Try the sandbox or build an office.
Questions
Is this the same as LLM observability?
No. Tracing tools such as Langfuse or LangSmith show prompts, completions and spans for debugging. Bot Office shows status for the people who rely on the bots, and can link to the trace with trace_url.
Do I need to change every bot?
Not for n8n or Make (an API key reads run history). Other tools need one small reporting step.
How many bots fit in one office?
Up to 250 desks per office, a technical limit, not a price.
